Gift Cake Ltd (“Gift Cake”, “we”) is responsible for the personal information you share through this website. You can contact us about it at contact@giftcake.co.uk.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- Details about the cake you want, your event date and, for delivery, your postcode.
- Any inspiration photos you upload. We remove location data from photos before they leave your device.
- A one-way scrambled version of your IP address, used only to stop spam.
Why we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, design and quote your cake, and arrange your order. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you. We never sell your information or use it for marketing.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of trusted services to run this website:
- Vercel, which hosts the website.
- Supabase, which stores enquiries and photos securely.
- Resend, which sends the email confirming your enquiry.
These providers may process data outside the UK under safeguards approved by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and their photos are deleted automatically 12 months after your event date. If you place an order, we keep the records we’re legally required to keep for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Visitor statistics are collected without cookies and can’t identify you.
